Thursday 18-Mar-2010 Kerala Tourism set to expand its Hotel Reservation System

The online hotel reservation system of Kerala Tourism is all set for a major expansion with the preparation of a strong database of around 4,500 trade partners. Currently, there are around 200 service providers and more trade partners are likely to join the initiative. The system, which was launched in mid-2009, offers travellers accommodation options ranging from five-star hotels to home stays in remote corners of Kerala. Around twenty-five thousand rooms across various destinations, including Alappuzha, Kumarakom, Munnar, Periyar, Wayanad, Kochi and Kozhikode are available for reservation through the system.

Rooms can be booked online at www.keralatourism.org. Bookings can be done by using credit cards, debit cards; through net banking and other facilities like Pay Pal. The speciality of the online reservation platform is that payment goes directly to the property owner’s account. Dr Venu V, Secretary, Kerala Tourism said, “Initiatives like the online reservation system aims at providing travellers a complete holiday experience with least hassles and formalities.
