MTDC participated at 41st Edition of PATA Travel Mart 2018 in Langkawi, Malaysia

Showcased several prospects of tourism such as Beach Tourism, Buddhist Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Wildlife Tourism and Bollywood Tourism

Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) participated in the recent Asia-Pacific’s leading travel trade event, PATA Travel Mart 2018 in Langkawi, Malaysia held from 12th September to 14th September 2018, to promote the tourism prospects of Maharashtra on a global platform. Shri. Dinesh Kamble, Senior Manager, Marketing and Publicity represented Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation at PATA Travel Mart 2018. MTDC pavilion at PATA Travel Mart 2018 was visited by Shri. Mridal Kumar, High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, Ms. Sudeshna Ramkumar, Director, India Tourism Singapore, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India along with Mr. Chris Botrill, Chairman, PATA and Mr. Mario Hardy, CEO, PATA.

Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) showcased several prospects of tourism such as Beach Tourism, Buddhist Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Wildlife Tourism and Bollywood Tourism at the 41st Edition of PATA Travel Mart 2018. Maharashtra is blessed with rich heritage sites to fulfil the requirements of travellers across the world. PATA Travel Mart 2018 offered a golden chance to aggressively market the tourism catalogues, vivacious culture, exclusive destinations and investment prospects in the state.

The 41st Edition of PATA Travel Mart 2018 witnessed the participation of more than 1,400 delegates across 70 nations worldwide. Every year travel and tour operators, booking system creators, airlines, hotels and other sectors related to travel & tourism, join PATA Travel Mart to introduce themselves and their services.

Commenting on the occasion, Shri Jaykumar Rawal, Hon'ble Minister of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra said, “The State of Maharashtra is leading in terms of foreign tourist arrivals (FTA). With the 41st edition of PATA Travel Mart 2018, we were able to promote the diversity of our state which offers 360 degrees dimension and the potential to cater to the needs of global travellers.”

Shri Vijay Kumar Gautam (IAS), Principal Secretary, Tourism, Government of Maharashtra added, “The main objective of participation at 41st Edition of PATA Travel Mart 2018 is to encourage Maharashtra as a world-class tourist destination and help the travel & tour operators to network with international buyers, trade buyers, exhibitors, strategy makers, and investors. We look at this as a prospect to promote Maharashtra globally and inspire tourists to visit this remarkable state.”

Commenting on the occasion, Shri Suhas Diwase, Managing Director, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) said, “PATA Travel Mart 2018 is a huge platform with plenty of opportunities to encourage Maharashtra tourism inventories. Our aim of participation is to strengthen Maharashtra’s position on the global platform.
