The Wine Capital of India - Nashik is all geared up to host the 3rd Edition of Nashik Travel Mart from 7th to 9th September 2017. Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), along with Travel Agents Association of Nashik (TAAN), will jointly organise the three-day Travel Mart.
The event aims to market Nashik and its surrounding areas and will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Devendra Fadnavis. State Tourism Minister Mr. Jaykumar Rawal, District Guardian Minister Mr. Girish Mahajan & Mr. Sambhaji Raje Chattrapati, Brand Ambassador - MTDC will be present as well.
Participation of around 600 travel agents from India and abroad is expected at the event. In addition, around 50-60 media representatives and travel bloggers will be present. Mayor Ranjana Bhansi, MLAs Balasaheb Sanap, Devyani Pharande, Seema Hiray, MTDC executive director Vijay Waghmare, MTDC joint managing director Ashutosh Rathod and others will be present at the event.
Speaking exclusively to Traveltechie, President of TAAN Mr. Datta Bhalerao said, "This year we are expecting greater participation not only from the Travel Agents but also from Tourism Boards as well as the Airlines. Around 100 Exhibitors will be showcasing at the event."
The district houses religious as well as historically significant tourism sites, wineries, forts and mountains, bird sanctuaries, heritage caves and a pleasant climate. Observing that despite all this, Nashik is not getting a high tourist response as expected, TAAN has invited representatives from travel agencies to inform them about tourist spots, hotels, guides, transportation, etc.
While briefing the media about the event, Mr. Rathod said, "Earlier, such kind of Travel Mart was organised in 2015 and its good effects have been seen. Keeping Nashik central, efforts are being taken to make circuit of 5-6 days of Shirdi, Verool, Ajintha, Saputara, Bheemashankar, Trimbakeshwar, Grishneshwar and Toranmal. Both Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation and Travel Agents Association of Nashik are taking conscious efforts for bringing Nashik on tourism map with organisation of Travel Mart every alternate year."
"The first travel mart was held in 2015, when we had 400 agents attending the event. This year we have 600. Next year, we will definitely have over 1,000. Mr. Rawal wants to develop tourism in the state and is ready to help with whatever is needed and whatever decision has to be taken regarding this", added Mr. Rathod.
