Low Cost Carrier (LCC) IndiGo has received government's permission to fly overseas from August 2011. The airline will now work on routes and other modalities involved in its proposed international operations.

IndiGo is the second LCC after SpiceJet, which would be flying overseas. SpiceJet, which received government's permission to fly on international network early this year, plans to launch flights to Kathmandu and Colombo from next month.
