Finnair will start daily service between Helsinki and New Delhi from the first week of January next year. Kari Stolbow, Director for Indian Subcontinent, Finnair said, “Our passenger load factor has been the highest from Asia, notably India. We are waiting for deliveries of new aircraft, and from January 6, 2010 we will become a daily service between Helsinki and New Delhi.”
Stolbow stated, “India remains an important market for us. Over the past year we had expanded our capacity by 40 per cent. Now we will not only expand our service but also offer a more convenient time slot for outbound and inbound travel. Flights out of New Delhi will leave at 10.50 am, against 8.35 am now. On its return leg, flights will reach at 6.25 am.” For the service, the airline has deployed new fleet of A-330 and A-340 aircraft.
He added that the airline is also looking forward to the formal entry of Kingfisher Airlines into oneworld alliance of global airlines for better synergies - both for reaching out to Indian destinations and overseas. Five of the oneworld carriers serving India will also share Kingfisher Airlines new premium passenger lounge in the new Terminal 3 of New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA). Apart from Finnair, oneworld members that fly to India are American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia and Royal Jordanian. |
