Karnataka Tourism to focus on online marketing initiatives

Plans to target new markets like Japan, Scandinavia, China, Spain and South America.

Department of Tourism (DoT), Government of Karnataka has undertaken an aggressive online marketing initiatives since April 2010. It is currently in the process of rolling out an online advertising campaign selecting the best tweets, facebook comments, photographs, videos portraying new destinations discovered and new experiences as posted by web users.

The contest will conclude in December this year with prizes offered on the Golden Chariot and Jungle Lodges & Resorts.

It is now also planning to target new markets like Japan, Scandinavia, China, Spain and South America.
