Air India will launch daily direct flights between Toronto and New Delhi from October 31, 2010.

Air India will launch daily direct flights between Toronto and New Delhi from October 31, 2010. Harry J Francis, Manager in Canada, Air India said that the distance between Toronto and New Delhi would be covered by Air India’s Boeing 777-300 aircraft in 14 hours. The return flight to Toronto from New Delhi will leave Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi at 1.30 am (local time) and would reach Toronto at 7.30 am (local time).

He said New Delhi would be the hub for Air India passengers and from New Delhi passengers would get connecting flights to different parts of India. Referring to Air India passengers who would like to go to Amritsar, Francis said Amritsar passengers would get their flight at Delhi Airport to Amritsar within two hours every day and their immigration checks would be conducted at the Amritsar International Airport. He made it clear that there would be no immigration checks for Amritsar passengers at Delhi Airport.
