The Ministry of Tourism in consultation with all the stakeholders has planned to form a registered body under the Chairmanship of the Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, which will be named Confederation of the Indian Travel and Tourism Industry (CITTI). It will also have a full Chief Operating Officer, who will report to the Governing Council.

All leading travel trade association will be part of the governing council. Individuals and companies could also become the member of the confederation in their personal capacity, as well.
