JnK Minister of stae for Home & Tourism, Nasir Aslam Wani today said the government will devise a ‘Quick Response Mechanism’ to facilitate upcoming tourists in the state.
Chairing a high-level meeting at SKICC today to discuss issues related to the upcoming tourist season in the State, the minister said a “Quick Response Mechanism will be put in place this year so that tourists are facilitated once they land in the State.”

Sahai, DC, Srinagar, Baseer Khan, DIG, Traffic, Kashmir, Vice Chairman, LAWDA, Irfan Yasin, Director Tourism, Kashmir, Farooq Shah, Commissioner SMC, G N Qasba, Chief Engineers of PHE, PDD and R&B, SSPs Srinagar, SBK, Security, Traffic and Airport, CEOs of Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg Development Authorities and various private stakeholders including KCCI, TAAI, TAASK and Houseboat Owners Association attended the meeting as per a report in Greater kashmir.
The Minister welcomed the “decision of the Valley-based tour and travel operators to come under one roof for promotion of tourism in the State.” Wani said the Government will wholeheartedly support the initiatives for promotion of tourism in the State.
The Minister said that Tourism Department will coordinate with airline carriers to shorten stay of foreign visitors after arrival at the airport. “The Tourism Department will provide forms through airlines so that overseas travelers spend lesser time at the airport,” Nasir said.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir government is also committed to provide all required facilities to the visiting pilgrims, and all steps have been initiated to tap the religious tourism potential of the state, a state minister today said.
The state is famous for its age old composite culture and people from all across the nation and abroad visit famous pilgrim tourist destinations of the state, said Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand. "The government is committed to provide all required facilities to the visiting pilgrims and all out efforts have been initiated to tap the religious tourism potential of the state," Chand said as per a PTI report.
The minister was speaking at 'bhumi pujan' ceremony of Bharat Sewa Ashram Sangh (BSAS) at Panj Garian, Nagrota in outskirts of Jammu city. The spiritual society was started by Yogacharya Paruva Nand Maharaj in the year 1896 at Kolkata, and has its branches in India and abroad. The tourism is the back bone of the state and major initiatives have been taken to promote pilgrim tourism, he said. |
