Montparnasse Tower recently opened a dedicated Sales and Marketing office for India at Connaught Place in New Delhi, thus becoming the only French tourism monument with its own sales and marketing office in India. Montparnasse Tower is currently armed with Sales & Marketing platform in Paris, Berlin, London, Hong Kong, Mainland China & now in India.

Eager to capture a chunk of this promising market and setting a trend for others to follow, Montparnasse Tower, a leading tourism monument of Paris has set up base in India for having a direct contact with the Indian tourism professionals and eventually with the Indian tourists as well.

India is among the top 3 most promising markets for Montparnasse Tower and as 70 percent of Montparnasse Towers current visitors are also foreigners, the company is heavily outward looking in its promotion and marketing strategies. ``We have put in place a commercial and marketing action plan for the mid and long term to develop Montparnasse Towers awareness and branding on these markets and on having more visibility amongst the professionals of tourism. We would like the Tour Operators to include our product in their programmes for the groups or FITs, says Jean-Marc Champrobert, Director Sales & Marketing at Montparnasse Tower Paris, adding that this inclusion in the itineraries will make Montparnasse Tower a must-see and must-visit for all Indian tourists.

Montparnasse Towers strategy for the long haul markets like India or China is to first test the market for its real potential for the product through a series of preliminary operations and to identify the most influential tourism professionals.

Jean-Marc Champrobert says that he realises that Montparnasse Tower cannot succeed in distant markets through missions carried out from Paris, but that these markets require a permanent presence and a continuous action. ``The working habits and local customs are also important for promotion of a product like ours and this understanding can come only by bringing on board a local person and that is what we have done by recruiting our sales and marketing manager in India,
Montparnasse Towers first mission in India took place in 2007 and pretty soon Cox & Kings believed in the potential of the product for the Indian market and began a fruitful and close collaboration with Montparnasse Tower. By having its own sales and marketing office in India, Montparnasse Tower hopes to achieve much higher sales by developing contracts with the local tour operators and be present in the local media print, electronic or internet and also to promote the brand throughout India.

``This full time representation by our new collaborator, Ms. Sara Sodhi, should allow us to benefit from the enormous potential of the Indian market. As the Indian economy continues to grow rapidly, it will allow an increasing number of Indians to come and visit Paris and our activities in India should allow us to receive a large number of these tourists of tomorrow,
