Bahrain Air has announced the launch of Thiruvananthapuram-Bahrain direct flights from March 15. Currently, no carrier offers direct flights to Bahrain, one of the major destinations of Non-Resident Keralites.
Though it has obtained approval for daily direct flights, Bahrain Air will start with four flights a week.
The departure time of the flight from Thiruvananthapuram is 5 am local time and it will reach Bahrain at 7.30 am local time. The flight will depart from Bahrain at 9.25 pm local time and reach Thiruvananthapuram at 4.15 am local time. The flight to Bahrain has been scheduled for onward connection to other GCC and Levant destinations.
Bahrain Air CEO Richard Nuttall stated: “We look forward to boosting our route network to the Indian subcontinent. Our customers have been telling us that they want Thiruvananthapuram in our network for many months now.
This is another step in our route expansion process this year. We have several other destinations in mind, and these will be announced as and when market conditions and approvals allow.’’
Air India had stopped direct flights to Bahrain recently, putting the passengers in despair. he announcement of Bahrain Air comes as a relief to a large number of passengers depending on the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. |
