A survey conducted by an online research website has revealed some of the safest cities in India, especially for women. The research was conducted across 37 cities with about 6167 participants.

While the main survey centered around “the safest city to live in”, the survey results also reflected how safe each city was for its residents as well as tourists.

The city of Chandigarh ranked first as being the safest city, followed by Vadodara in Gujarat and Shimla, a very famous hill station as well as honeymoon destination in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

Chandigarh which is shared as a capital between the states of Punjab and Haryana is one of the most well planned cities of India and famous for the rock and Rose Garden.

Vadodara also called as Baroda is famous for the grand Laxmi Vilas Palace. It is one of the best cities with very low crime rates and no terror attacks. The main barometer of safety in Vadodara is the Navratri and Dussehra festival which is celebrated on a very large scale but records no incidents of eve teasing or harassment of females who travel on roads late nights.

Shimla which is considered as the Queen of Hill Stations is a popular tourist attraction all round the year. Locals here are known to be kind and helpful towards tourists. The hill station and its surrounding areas attract lots of tourist especially during winter for various winter sport activities such as ice skating, skiing, para gliding, zorbing and others.
