Around 150 tourists who had taken the ‘Bharat Darshan’ tour package through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) staged a protest and Rail Roko at the City Railway Station.
The protesters stopped the Bharat Darshan train for nearly 30 minutes demanding the refund of the ticket cost, as the IRCTC did not take them to the places mentioned in the itinerary.
The IRCTC officials asked the tourists to give a written complaint stating the inconveniences they underwent during the tour.
According to tourists, the IRCTC had charged Rs. 18,000 from every passenger but did not take them to Darjeeling and Gangtok, though the tourist destinations were mentioned in the itinerary.
They also alleged that the accommodation and food that was provided were below standards. Also, they mentioned that there were not many guides in the tourist destinations. Around 150 tourists disembarked from the train that left for Mysore.
