Malaysian High Commission opens visa application centre in Mumbai, to open nine more centres across India
In a move towards improving the services for Indian travellers, Tan Seng Sung, Malaysian High Commissioner in India, recently inaugurated the first Malaysian visa application centre (VAC) at Chowpatty Bandstand in Mumbai.

In a move towards improving the services for Indian travellers, Tan Seng Sung, Malaysian High Commissioner in India, recently inaugurated the first Malaysian visa application centre (VAC) at Chowpatty Bandstand in Mumbai. The Malaysian High Commission is planning to open nine such VACs across India with Hyderabad and Mumbai being the first two centres in the series. This initiative is aimed to further enhance the image of Malaysia as a ‘round-the-year destination’ for all travel segments.
Meanwhile, Malaysia Tourism is targetting 650,000 arrivals from India this year. To achieve the same, it has set sight to target niche products like wedding market from India. In the last two months, the NTO has already taken as many as 12 wedding planners from India to showcase possible wedding venues in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Langkawi in Malaysia and also understand the requirements of an Indian wedding.
