The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) signed an MoU with Orissa Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) on Tuesday to explore tourism potential of the state and other regions in the country as per a TOI report.
The IRCTC has floated 10 rail tour packages connecting Bhubaneswar with a host of enchanting tourist destinations in the country. "IRCTC will sell our products at their counters and take care of the tourists sent through us. We will also provide transport facility and accommodation to the guests sent by IRCTC," said OTDC general manager Manoranjan Pattnaik.
IRCTC's group general manager (tourism, east zone), Amlan Kumar Biswas said he would soon chalk out a detailed plan regarding the journey schedule and other formalities of the project. "The pact between OTDC and IRCTC will boost the tourism potential of the state. We will also try to promote the Buddhist circuit in the state among the package buyers," said OTDC chairman Jyotiskar Mohapatra.
