Indian Hotels Company that owns the Taj brand of luxury hotels Tuesday said it has appointed Mehernosh Kapadia as an executive director. "Mehernosh Kapadia has been appointed as the executive director of Indian Hotels Company as head of corporate affairs," the company said in a statement issued here. Kapadia has been associated with the company for 34 years and has held various senior positions. He was also the chairman of Taj Air and managing director of Taj SATS Air Catering. He is also on the board of Tata Realty and Ewart Investments. The Tata Group company owns and runs six brands of hotels in the luxury, premium, mid-market and value segments. The Taj brand with its iconic property the Taj Hotel and Palace in Mumbai is the flagship of the group, the resort and spa brand Taj Exotica, Taj Safaris are wildlife lodges, Vivanta by Taj comes in the premium hotels & resorts segment, The Gateway Hotel operates the upscale/mid-market full service hotels and resorts and last is the economy brand Ginger. The Taj group has presence in over 50 cities in the country with 93 properties and 16 hotels in the Maldives, Malaysia, Australia, the US, Britain, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Africa and the Middle East. |
