With a view to give boost to the tourism sector, four metro cities of Madhya Pradesh – Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior will be connected with air taxi service from September 7.
The services will be launched by Ventura Air Connect Private Limited in association with the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC). Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate the service on September 7 from the Raja Bhoj airport here, MPTDC chairman Mohan Yadav told reporters.
"This is for the first time in the country that air taxi services will be provided by any state in the tourism sector," Yadav said. Two nine-seater aircraft will be deployed for the service.
Company officials said that they are also planning to provide air connectivity to scenic places like Pachmarhi, Khajuraho, Kanha and Ballabgarh to tap tourism potential of these areas. |
