Hainan Airlines will connect Mumbai to Shenzen and Shanghai starting for 20 September making the only airline to link India to Shenzen, a route that is primarily dominated by corporate traffic.
Daniel Song, assistant managing director at Sanya Holidays India Pvt Ltd, that represents Hainan Airlines in India told that the airline will have two flights a week. The airline has started marketing the route with special promotional offers to Indian passengers according to a report by P.R. Sanjai in Mint.
Though there are many carriers, including domestic and international, connecting Hong Kong, there is no airlines connecting directly to Shenzen. “This connection will help to boost business travel in India-China. Shenzen is one of the trade fair hub of Asia,” said a senior executive at a leading travel company. He did not want to be identified.
According to its website, since 1993, in additional to its main hub Haikou, Hainan Airlines has established eight bases in Beijing, Xi’an, Taiyuan, Urumqi, Guangzhou, Lanzhou, Dalian and Shenzhen, as well as an network across China connecting Asia, Europe, America and Africa. |
