Goa tourism will undertake a Rs.20 million TV advertising blitz in around 150 countries across Europe, Africa and Asia to lure foreign tourists to Goa's beaches.
State Tourism Director Swapnil Naik said the advertising blitz would reach out to over 60 million viewers across Europe, Africa and South East Asia.
"The entire campaign will be broadcast on the Travel Channel International (TCI), which is a reputed international channel. The campaign will be telecast in eight languages, which includes English, Polish, German and Russian," Naik said. The nine-week ad campaign would begin from the second week of July.
Naik said that former Miss Russia Svetlana Stepankovskaya, Indian model Alisha Pekha and actress Mahima Chaudhury are part of the campaign to lure foreign as well as domestic tourists to Goa.
"The ads feature many aspects of Goa. It projects Goa as a bouquet of experiences right from beaches, hinterland, casinos and religious places," Naik said.
Goa attracts nearly 2.6 million tourists annually, of whom nearly half a million are foreigners, mainly from Britain, Russia and Germany. |
