Following are the important highlights, as regards these two important indicators of tourism sector for November 2010.
- FTAs in India during November 2010 were 6.06 lakh as compared to FTAs of 5.28 lakh during November 2009 and 5.32 lakh in November 2008.
- There has been a growth of 14.7 per cent in November 2010 over November 2009 as compared to a growth of (-) 0.6 per cent registered in November 2009 over November 2008.
- Delhi airport registered an increase of 18.5 per cent in November 2010 as compared to the growth rate of 5.1 per cent in October 2010 over the corresponding period of 2009.
- Growth rate in November 2010 (14.7 per cent) is higher than that observed during October 2010 (9.2 per cent) and September (12.6 per cent).
- FTAs during the period January-November 2010 were 49.29 lakh with a growth rate of 10.4 per cent, as compared to the FTAs of 44.63 lakh and a negative growth rate of six per cent during January-November 2009 over the corresponding period of 2008.
Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEE) from Tourism in Indian Rs terms and USD terms
- FEE from tourism during November 2010 were Rs 6,516 crore as compared to Rs 5,523 crore in November 2009 and Rs 4,935 crore in November 2008.
- The growth rate in FEE in Rs terms in November 2010 over November 2009 was 18 per cent as compared to growth rate of 11.9 per cent in November 2009 over November 2008.
- FEE during the period January-November 2010 were Rs 57,850 crore with a growth rate of 20.7 per cent, as compared to FEE of Rs 47,918 crore with a growth of five per cent during January-November 2009 over the corresponding period of 2008.
- FEE in USD terms during the month of November 2010 were USD 1,448 million as compared to FEE of USD 1,185 million during the month of November 2009 and USD 1,005 million in November 2008.
- The growth rate in FEE in USD terms in November 2010 over November 2009 was 22.2 per cent.
- FEE during the period January-November 2010 were USD 12,635 million with a growth rate of 27.8 per cent as compared to FEE of USD 9,884 million with a negative growth of 7.6 per cent during January - November 2009 over the corresponding period of 2008.
