In a bid to lure international travellers into experiencing West Bengal's culture and heritage, the state tourism department is set to launch a mega tea tourism project in Sylee, an official said on Thursday.
The Sylee project will be spread over 90 acres and located amidst 12 tea plantations, state Tourism Secretary Vikram Sen said at a programme in Kolkata. "Tea tourism is a new aspect and we will promote it through the project," he said.
Besides, four other mega tourism projects are slated to come up at Gajoldoba (near Siliguri), Kolkata Eye (Hooghly waterfront), Kunjanagar (Terai-Dooars in North Bengal's Jalpaiguri district), and Jharkhali at the heart of Sunderban mangrove forests.
