WTM Latin America get popular on Facebook and invests in other online media

After reaching more than 10 thousand fans in seven months, the event emphasizes the importance of these tools to keep the public constantly updated with news of the event

WTM Latin America trade fair, which will take place between the 23rd and 25th of April, at Transamerica Expo Center, in São Paulo, celebrates their large number of fans in Facebook and highlight the importance of online communication, so that both exhibitors and visitors can always be well-informed about the event.

Besides this page, a profile on Twitter and Linkedin and a Blog on the website are the social media that are responsible for the immediate disclosure of any news as well as for any information regarding trends in the tourism market.

As it is known that Latin America is ranked five out of ten of the most engaged markets in social networks in the world: Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile and Mexico, and also that Latin Americans spend 56% more time on the social media pages than the world average (2012 ComScore survey), WTM Latin America also decided to concentrate its efforts on working with these online tools.

The Facebook page which has been updated since August 2012, already reached more than 10 thousand fans. With an exponential growth in the number of people interested in the virtual page, this channel offers information such as major partnership deals that have been closed by WTM Latin America, news about the programming for the three days of the event, tools that are available to exhibitors and visitors along with general news about the trade fair such as dates for registration, registration numbers, expectations, etc. This news is also reproduced on both the Twitter and Linkedin profiles.
