The Union Minister of State for Tourism, K. Chiranjeevi, has said his ministry will support initiatives to develop new tourism spots across the country and in the State.
Speaking at a conference hosted by Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Developers Association, the recently inducted actor-turned politician and now Union Minister said Andhra Pradesh is rich with attractive spots which could be developed as independent tourist destinations.
Several spots in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts of the State have the potential to be developed as tourist spots by developing necessary support infrastructure.
Citing his recent visit to the United Kingdom for Tourism World Market meet, he said a study report has mentioned Hyderabad among three must visit destinations in the world. It has been named along with San Francisco and Amsterdam.
The Union Minister said that given the potential for job creation in the tourism sector, more emphasis will be laid on its development. Therefore, his ministry will do everything possible to support the growth of tourism in the country.
