An exceptional event is in the offing for the discerning traveller - a car rally starting from Paris, winding its way through the most beautiful villages of France with its final destination as Cannes on the French Riviera. The arrival in Cannes is scheduled to take place just before the Cannes Film Festival, guaranteeing a glamorous entry! The rally takes place in convertible 2CV cars adding a vintage touch to the event.
The event is the initiative of the organisation, ''4 roues sous une parapluie'' who has joined the association, ''Les Plus Beaux Villages de France'' (the most beautiful villages of France). The association includes 157 villages spread over 21 regions and 69 departments. Since its inception, the strategy has been to preserve and enhance the quality of life in villages so as to increase their visibility, at the same time, control the number of tourists that visit these villages and develop an economic activity inherently linked to tourism.
The organisation, ''4 roues sous une parapluie'' presents the independent traveller a wide array of original services centred around the vintage 2CV automobile, thus enabling its guests to have a firsthand experience of the French art de vivre, or way of life.
This unique rally is dedicated to the vintage 2CV car and will follow a route which connects about twenty villages labelled as ''Les Plus Beaux Villages de France''. The rally will offer discerning travellers a chance to discover prestigious sites and places and will be full of charming and quaint stops en route. This event enables the traveller to discover different facets of France's culture, gastronomy, a chance to interact with locals from every village, thus enabling a true chance to live the French way of life.
