Colem police along with fire and emergency services personnel finally succeeded in tracing the body of 24-year-old railway employee from Karnataka, by using the sophisticated visual display unit (VDU). A police source revealed that the body of Hanumant Anantpur was stuck inside a 20m deep canyon, located at the Dudhsagar falls water basin, adding that it is impossible to do anything but wait for it to surface.
VDU is usually used by fire and emergency services to obtain underwater visuals. Police sources said that a diver even attempted to swim through the canyon and fish out the body, but the high current inside the canyon at a depth of 10m led to blood oozing out of his ears, forcing him to return to the surface.
