In a bid to give a boost to tourism in Uttarakhand, the State Government has identified 21 lesser-known places endowed with natural beauty to develop them into major tourist destinations.
This is part of the State Government’s ongoing efforts to add some more places to the existing list of major tourist destinations in Uttarakhand such as Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mussoorie, Nainital and the famous Char Dhams, Additional Secretary Tourism, Amit Negi, said here on Monday.
Among the places identified for the purpose are Baijnath, Jageshwar, Saat Taal, Bhimtal, Chakori, Patal Bhuvaneshwar, Pithoragarh, Someshwar, Roopkund, Chakrata, Anson Barrage, Hanaul, Dhanaulti, Harshil and Dayara meadow, he said.
