Uttarakhand, the 'Theme State" at the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (2010) being held here, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan Tourism Development Coproration (RTDC) to sell each other's tourism products and ensure the visits of foreign and domestic travellers in both states all the year round.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Rakesh Sharma, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand & CEO, Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) and Mr. Manjit Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, RTDC.
Briefing media persons here today, Mr. Akshat Gupta, Additional Secretary, Tourism & Additional CEO, UTDB, said, "The MoU aims at booking and facilitating the visit of a traveller coming from Rajasthan to Uttrakhand and vice versa. Tourists coming from Rajasthan to Uttarakhand will be booked by RTDC , while those visiting Rajasthan from Uttarakhand will be booked through Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) and Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN)." Besides senior officials oof RTDC, Mr. B Purushottam, Managing Director, GVMN and Mr. Ashok Joshi, General Manager, KMVN, were present at the signing of the MoU.
