Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has announced that United Airlines will bring 1,300 new jobs to Chicago in an expansion of the airline's operations in the city.
"I promised to foster a business climate that attracts and retains the greatest companies in the nation," Emanuel was quoted as saying in a press release.
Emanuel made the announcement on June 10 alongside United Airlines President and CEO Jeff Smisek on the tenth floor of the Willis Tower, where many of the United Airlines employees will be working.
