US Travel Association urges to ease visa policy for India

One visitor from India to US is roughly equal to two visitors from the United Kingdom, Germany or France in spending.

The United States Travel Association, in its latest report, says that the US visa ‘can be cumbersome, time-consuming, expensive and unpredictable, posing significant barriers to US competitiveness’.

Furthermore, markets like Brazil, China and India should be given special priority for visa processing as part of a sweeping package of measures to help the country regain its share of the global travel and tourism industry.

Among all overseas travellers to the US, those from China, India and Brazil rank first, second and fourth, respectively, in spending.
