Following the hanging of Parliament attack convict Mohammed Afzal Guruand the subsequent curfew in parts of the J&K, the United Kingdom has reviewed its travel advisory asking its citizens to monitor the situation and be prepared to alter travel plans. The overall advice for British citizens has not been changed.
This review could reflect badly on what was considered an improved tourism scenario in J&K in the last one year. In fact, the UK was the third country following Japan and Germany to withdraw its advisory allowing its citizens to travel to cities of Jammu, Srinagar, on the Jammu-Srinagar highway and parts of Leh and Ladakh.
