TripAdvisor has announced the winners of its 2013 Travellers’ Choice Awards for the most Romantic hotels based on millions of valuable reviews and opinions from travellers around the world.

This year, Rajasthan tops as the state with the most number of romantic hotels followed by last year’s winner Kerala. Interestingly, hotels from Tamil Nadu made a glittering debut on the list this year with two hotels from the state ranked at number 8 and 9.

Taj Lake Palace (Udaipur), regains its place of pride as the top romantic hotel this year, after falling down to number 4 in the list last year. Other than Taj Lake Palace, Honeymoon Inn Manali is the other property which has been consistently on the list for the last three years, making them both enduring romantic escapes.

The awards are based on the feedback of couples who have stayed at these hotels and make them great romantic choices for other couples. Also the list boasts of more boutique independent properties than chain hotels giving an opportunity for moonstruck escapes which could also be easy on the holiday budget.

“The list of winners for India has some great options for couples planning to get away for Valentine’s Day closer to home.
