Travel agents of Mumbai held a silent protest outside a suburban hotel where Jet airways chairman, Naresh Goyal, was meeting other airline officials.

The protest was held on Friday. The travel agents not only demanded that the airline pay them commission on the sale of tickets, but also keep fares on its website at par with those offered to agents for sale.

Travel agents waited for a good part of the day for Goyal to give them a hearing. Their efforts yielded results when Goyal asked two representatives from among the protestors to meet him. "He assured us that the airline won't sell a different fare on its website. He said that the airline doesn't mean to harm the agents," said an agent. Agents said that they hoped that the airline acknowledged their role in selling tickets and gave them their due as commission.
