Political unrest in Thailand has forced Indian tourists to either cancel trips to the south east Asian country or drop Bangkok from their itinerary. Even the Thai government has issued an advisory, asking tourists to remain vigilant and avoid sites of protest.
The Asian nation declared a 60-day emergency on Tuesday after the anti-government protests turned violent last weekend, dealing a blow to the sentiment-dependent tourism sector in the country.
While Bangkok is now a strict no-no, with most customers requesting cancellation or change of routes, other destinations in Thailand like Pattaya or Phuket still continue to woo tourists, travel agencies and tour operators say.
