Tourists visiting Manali this summer may have to struggle to get a room as over 50% rooms have already been reserved for the months of May and June while remaining are likely to be booked soon. The reason behind the rush can be attributed to the increase in tourist inflow this year.

About 32 lakh tourists visiting Manali in 2012 and the number is expected to cross 35-lakh mark this year. The tourist town has over 800 hotels, resorts, guest houses and homestay units that have been flooded with thousands of booking enquiries for the summer. Even April is expected to see a big crowd and many hotels have full occupancy after April 10. According to hoteliers, tourists from Kashmir are diverting to Himachal Pradesh.
