Tourist flow to Varanasi-Madhya Pradesh belt increases by 50 percent

The temple town of Varanasi attracts lakhs of tourists every year. Amongst these tourists around 50,000 tourists who arrive into Varanasi also visit MahiyarDevi and Khajuraho temple in Madhya Pradesh.

An official of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) said ever since the MP Tourism opened its marketing office in Varanasi last year, the tourist influx on Varanasi-Madhya Pradesh belt has increased to about 50% as per a TOI report.

"Most of the people who visit Varanasi, visit Mahiyyar Devi temple and the two jyotirlinga in MP, while the foreign tourists go for site seeing in Panchmarhi, Khajuraho, Ochha, Sanchi and other places in the state", he informed.

Apart from Varanasi, there is a marketing office of MPSTDC in Lucknow also.

The office organises different package tours for Madhya Pradesh for families, couples, senior citizens and student groups.
