Tourist bus operators withdrew their decision to not enter Goa on Monday after the intervention by Goa CM.

On Sunday night, bus journeys from Mumbai to Goa were delayed at least an hour as the operators' association and transporters stopped traffic at the Goa border. The police were called in to prevent a law and order problem.

Mario Pereira of Paulo Travels told TOI that the decision to call off the stir was taken as the Goa CM promised to look into the operators' demands.

"Our primary demand was a rollback on entry tax at the border and it seems it will be replaced by monthly passes, which will ensure that we have to pay only 80% of the present entry tax to Goa," Pereira said. "The CM will also look into the possibility of allowing registration of sleeper AC coaches in Goa. This will solve 50% of our issues."

However, the truckers are continuing the stir against the entry tax of up to Rs 1,000 per vehicle per trip.
