Tourism and Events Queensland has appointed Quay Marketing Consulting (QMCPL) to represent the organisation in India for the next three years. Steve McRoberts, Group Executive Marketing, Tourism and Events Queensland said QMC would play a vital role in showcasing Queensland’s destinations to the emerging market of India.
India is one of Queensland’s fastest growing international markets with the state welcoming around 37,000 visitors in the year to September 2013, an increase of 22 per cent on the year prior.
Commenting on being appointed as the new India Marketing Representation Company, Ryna Sequeira, Marketing Director, Quay said, “It’s an honour for us to work with Tourism and Events Queensland. We aim to take the destination to all new heights with our expansion plans and strengthen our level of trade servicing across key cities in India as well, we will seek to leverage on exciting media opportunities such as the 2015 Cricket World Cup to enhance consumer awareness of Queensland as a premier holiday destination. We look forward to a fruitful relationship with Tourism and Events Queensland.”
