Toll charges on Pune-Mumbai expressway for all types of vehicles will go up by 18 per cent from April 1. For those travelling in cars, the charges will increase to Rs 165 from the current Rs 140.  

For buses, the toll rates will increase to Rs 485 from the existing Rs 411, while for trucks the charges will be Rs 354 instead of Rs 300. Similarly the new rates for mini-buses and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) will be Rs 255, and for three-axle vehicles Rs 838. The highest toll charge will be of Rs 1,116 — for multi-axle vehicles.

According to MSRDC officials, toll charges for partial use of the expressway have also been proportionately increased.

Over 12,000 vehicles use the expressway every day. Of these, over 9,000 are cars. While over 800 buses travel on the expressway every day, the number of trucks on the route is over 1,300.
