Tiger Airways is going to launch flights between Singapore and Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu (TN) effective November 1, 2010. The airline will operate four times a week flights on the route on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Trichy will be Tiger Airways’ 34th destination in Asia Pacific, and its third in India besides Bengaluru and Chennai.
According to a report in asiatraveltips.com, tickets are now on sale, with fares (one way) from SGD 70 + SGD 100 taxes (approximately Rs 2,100 + Rs 2, 900 taxes) for travel between November 1, 2010 and March 26, 2011.
Rosalynn Tay, Managing Director, Tiger Airways Singapore said, “Tiruchirappalli, or Trichy, is not only a destination in its own right. It also serves the vast hinterland of South India, being centrally located in Tamil Nadu. As the only airline to fly direct from there to Singapore, we offer travellers much greater convenience and valuable time savings, in addition to our low fares.”
