Tibet Tourism Corporation will set up a five-star hotel near Yarlung Zangbo (the Tibetan name for Brahmaputra) Grand Canyon in Tibet to make it an international tourist spot. The hotel will be built atop a hill in Paizhen, a small town in Mainling County of east Tibet’s Nyingchi Prefecture. The hotel will come up at a cost of USD 14.7 million and will be completed in two phases. In the first phase, there will be 150 rooms. This information was given by Liu Jianyun, Vice President, Tibet Tourism Co Ltd.
Jianyun said, “Paizhen sits at the entrance of the grand canyon, which is a buffer zone and not the core zone. We will take low-carbon and environmental-friendliness into full consideration in the construction and management of the hotel.”
