The JW Marriott Marquis, the world’s tallest hotel in Dubai, has some of its 804 rooms and suits and three restaurants officially open to customers, a local news website reported Monday.

The hotel, at a height of 355 meters, is only 26 meters short of the Empire State Building in New York, the Dubai-based Arabian Business said.

The 82-storey hotel will have the rest of its 802 rooms, all nine restaurants, five bars and lounges open in January; however the grand opening is scheduled to be in February.

“The JW Marriott Marquis will add significantly to Dubai in its drive to become the preferred choice for meetings, incentives, conference and events business,” Arabian Business quoted General Manager Rupprecht Queitsch saying.

“We are working in tandem with the Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing and Dubai Convention Bureau to put Dubai on the global business destination map,” he added.
