The Great Domestic Tourism Bazaar held successfully in New Delhi

Around 1500 pre-scheduled and on-spot B2B & B2C meetings were successfully held; GDTB 2013 would be held in the last week of September next year

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) with the support of Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) successfully organized The Great Domestic Tourism Bazaar on August 24 at The Lalit, New Delhi and August 25, 2012 at Federation House, New Delhi. 

The Great Domestic Tourism Bazaar 2012 was inaugurated by Shri Subodh Kant Sahai, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Government of India. 

The Tourism Bazaar was well attended by over 450 consumers, tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers, travel media, other members of the Tourism fraternity of India as well as representatives from the State Governments. 

The Inaugural session saw the leaders of the Tourism industry highlighting the importance of Domestic Tourism as the main support structure for the Tourism Industry in India. The plenary sessions had very active discussions among the panelists and the audience with an exclusive focus on the State Governments driving domestic tourism as policy makers and how innovation can be integrated and used by smaller players to enhance their reach to promote Domestic Tourism. 

A FICCI – Yes Bank Study on ‘Domestic Tourism- Evolution, Trends and Growth’ was jointly released by Shri Subodh Kant Sahai, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Government of India, Shri R.H. Khwaja, Secretary Tourism, Government of India and Ms Naina Lal Kidwai, Sr. Vice President, FICCI. 

Dr. Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson, FICCI Tourism Committee and Chairperson & Managing Director, The LaLit Suri Hospitality Group, announced that the next edition of the Great Domestic Tourism Bazaar would be held in the last week of September 2013.
