It’s time to travel around the world in 3 days. The Travel and Tourism Fair, TTF Chennai, part of India’s biggest network of travel fairs, opened today at Rajah Muthiah & Rani Meyyammai A/C Halls, in the presence of a large number of national and international travel and tourism organizations and industry members. The 3-day event, a much awaited fixture on the travel industry calendar, has brought together more than 150 participants from all over India, including representation from 12 States and 3 Countries, under one single roof.
Participating with many private operators, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh are the Partner States, while Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala & Karnataka, and West Bengal are the Feature States. Tamil Nadu Tourism, the Host State, also has a good presence at TTF Chennai.
The other states represented at Chennai include Maharashtra, Delhi, Chandigarh, Puducherry, and Uttar Pradesh.
Nepal is the Feature country of TTF Chennai 2011, and is participating with private travel operators and hoteliers from the Himalayan Kingdom.
Besides State Tourism organizations, TTF Chennai has the participation of a large number of hotels, resorts, travel agents, tour-operators, cruise-lines, railways, travel portals and publications etc.
With definite signs of recovery in the economy, travel and tourism organizations are using attractive pricing to stimulate demand. Tourists and business travelers can expect to get good bargains in travel packages and hotel rates.
The strong trend in the travel and tourism sector is reflected in the increase in the number of participants, and the size of the event, which has grown a healthy 20% over the last year, making this the biggest-ever TTF in Chennai.
