Thane, near Mumbai, to get beautified for tourism

Five tourists spots in tribal dominated Jawhar and Mokhada taluaks of Thane will get a sum of Rs 1.25 crore for their development, Collector Abashaeb L Jarhad has said. The sum has been sanctioned under the District Annual Plan for 2012-13, he said.

Each spot will get Rs 25 lakh to upgrade tourism- related infrastructure and facilities. The work to be carried out include improving the approach roads, putting paver blocks, seating arrangement for tourists, railings, cleaning of the lakes and beautifying the locations, Jarhad said.

These spots are Suryamal and Deoband in Mokhada, and Dabosa, Sunset Point and Jamsar (Deotali) in Jawhar taluka.
