At the begining of another the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) has announced the forthcoming TAFI convention in the exciting land of South Africa - Durban from the 24th to the 27th February 2013.
Durban,in the province of Kwazulu-natal, being an interesting destination also has a sizeable Indian population who have ties with India over the last few centuries. Kwazulu-Natal Tourism (KZN) along with SATSA (The Tourism Services Associatoin of South Africa) have played a vital role in ensuring the dream of bringing the two countries together for this glorious event. Years of deliberation and proactive roles played by both i.e - KZN tourism & TAFI will be converting this dream into a reality.
The host country South Africa and airline partner, South-African Airways have played a key role to help this convention see light. other partners, for stay- Tsogo Sun group hotels, other international and domestic airline partners - Emirates and Indigo, have also played an important role to create a wonderful offer for delegates. as it awaits the confirmations from many invited dignitaries, which TAFI will announce shortly.
The convention venue will be the "ICC Durban, Convention Centre" the event falls between the AFCON Cup & the BRICS conference in South Africa which will keep up the momentum of the visitors there.
The theme for this convention will be “Navigating the Future”. This theme has been specially chosen considering the present challenges faced by the travel trade. the general economy being slow and recession set in world-wide , the traditional travel agent is facing the brunt of it on a daily basis.
In this convention, through the business sessions TAFI hope to highlight and come together to find solutions and alternatives to face the adversities and create better business models for the future through the business sessions at the convention the focus will also be on the bilateral exchanges between the two countries and educating the travel industry on future business & cultural exchange opportunities which will bring the two countries closer and rekindle the path started by Mahatma Gandhi.
Logistically it is a challenge to execute, organize and plan this major event due to the long haul flights /connectivity/multiple departures from varied cities from india & the pre & post tours. South Africa as a country & Kwazulu-Natal province as a destination has a wide variety of tourism to offer, thus every indian delegate attending the conference will want to explore more of this exciting land.
For this TAFI has strived to bring in a attractive price of Rs.51,111/pp on twin share for a package of 6 nights which will include 3 days of a pre/post fam tour offered by KZN tourism and 3 nights of the convention.
