Switzerland sets up consulate in Bangalore

Will start issuing visas catering the southern region from the second half of next year

Switzerland has set up a consulate general in Bangalore. It will cater to the southern states Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. "The consulate will promote trade, investment and tourism,"

Switzerland's ambassador to India Philippe Welti said at a meeting organized by FKCCI here on Friday. Visas will be issued in the second half of next year when the consulate expects to move to a new building. Till then, services for the region will continue in Mumbai.
