Snowfall at Beas Nullah and Marhi near Rohtang pass on Sunday have brought thrill to the tourists coming from the plains, where mercury has crossed 43 degrees celsius mark. The snowfall is unusual in the first week of May -- considered mid-summer season in Manali, which has so far witnessed low temperatures. Hoteliers say tourists are demanding blankets, heavy quilts and room heaters.
Peaks near Manali, including Rohtang, have been experiencing snowfall since Saturday night. Many drove up to Marhi, till where the highway has been declared safe for tourist movement, on Sunday morning after met office predicted high possibility for snowfall.
