Sri Lankan Govt. to lease out 12 islands for setting hotels and resorts

Sri Lanka government plans to lease out around 5,500 acres spread across 12 islands to investors interested in setting up hotels and resorts in the country.

The 12 islands are located in Kalpitiya area of Western Sri Lanka, close to the capital city, Colombo.

The leasing will be done through a tendering process. For all kinds of investments in the tourism segment, the Sri Lankan government has empowered Sri Lanka Tourism Board as the single window clearance body.
