Low-cost airline SpiceJet has announced that it will start Delhi-Shirdi flight from next Monday October 1, incidentally, the first anniversary of Shirdi airport. The Shirdi airport became operational on October 1, 2017. This will take the total number of flights at the Shirdi airport to four.
Currently, three flights are operational from the Shirdi -- two to Hyderabad and another to Mumbai.All the three flights are run by Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India.
Every year around 60,000 pilgrims visits the temple town of Shridi, which has the famous temple dedicated to Sai Baba. SpiceJet flight will leave Delhi at 12.35 pm and land in Shirdi at 2.35 pm. On the way back, the flight will leave Shirdi at 3.05 pm and land in Delhi by 4.55 pm.
Besides, the no-frill airline will also launch a new daily direct flight on the Mumbai-Kanpur route from October 8. The airline will also operate first direct flight on the Mumbai-Jaisalmer route starting October 29 and a third direct flight on MumbaiKolkata sector from November 1.
