South African Tourism begins the New Year with its annual roadshow in India which kick started in Mumbai today. The roadshow will also travel to Hyderabad, Bengaluru and New Delhi. Through this four-city roadshow, South African Tourism aims to build Inbound Tourism from India which has grown to become one of the core markets for South Africa.
The multi-city roadshow is organized each year to showcase the varied experiences that South Africa has to offer as a holiday destination and to present innovative, latest products and services to the Indian market. Over the years, it has proven to be an effective platform for the partners from India and South Africa to interact and cultivate business opportunities. While the South African partners get to learn about the latest travel trends in India and traveler interests, Indian trade use this platform to learn more about the latest offerings of South Africa which can be customized as per the preferences of Indian travelers.
South African Tourism’s annual roadshow has received a great response year after year, as a result of which two roadshows were organized in the year 2012. Both the roadshows drew fantastic attendance; the second edition held in September 2012 was attended by over 900 tour operators across key markets in India like Mumbai, Ahmedabad, New Delhi and Kolkata.
Speaking on the 10th roadshow commencement, Ms. Hanneli Slabber, Country Manager, South African Tourism India, said “Over the years we have witnessed a continuous increase in Indian tourist arrivals, making India one of the key markets for us. Therefore, it has been our constant endeavour to enhance our engagement with our key stakeholders in India to further boost tourist arrivals to South Africa. Each year, our roadshow has provided the perfect platform for travel operators from India to further expand their understanding and offerings of South Africa and developing and strengthening business opportunities with the SA partners present at the roadshow.”
